March into 1066

With only an hours notice I got a message that a band of 1066 warriors would be marching through Linton on their way to the Battle of Hastings!  Here for more information.

Lindsay and I thought we'd pop down to welcome them to Linton from their walk from Wandlebury that day.  
 
However, there was  confusion, and misinformation about where exactly they were to be arriving, and it turns out the reason we (and anyone else in the village) had not heard about this was that English Heritage had been making arrangements with another village of Linton!

Oooopps!  Easily done - as I believe there are at least 5 in the UK.

Nevertheless there was a few souls that got the message on time and turned out - those of us that were there thought it was splendid.
