Table Mountain

A full day.  We drove to the seaside, to catch the Hop On Hop Off Bus, and get a guided tour around the sights of Cape Town.  Then we had a demonstration of Africanism - not one, but two buses that we were travelling (or rather, stationary) on broke down, and we had chaotic transfers to alternative buses.

Eventually we got to the cable car, where we were prevented from queuing and taken straight up in the lift to the bottom station - there are times when wearing a splint on my knee works miracles.

I couldn't choose one picture from Table mountain, so you get a collage.  The cute little furry creatures are rock hyrax, commonly known as dassies in South Africa, and their closest living related species is the elephant!  The yellow flowers are one of the many protea species, and the orange flowers are an erica (heather).

We then attempted to visit District Six Museum, but unfortunately, they were just shutting as we arrived - perhaps another day.

This evening, we went to a concert at Artscape, raising funds for a children's hospital, with a wide variety of artists - singers, dancers and other performing arts.  A picture of the finale is in extras
