L’Église at Sainte-Mère-Église

We were in the area so thought we would drop in. There is a memorial on the church to John Steele who did the same on D-Day. Having spent some time the previous week on the battlefields of the first world war, we now found ourselves on one of the more important battlefields of the second world war. We were crossing Normandy on our way back to Vicq and realised that it might be a long time before we came this way again. Later, we visited Omaha and Gold beaches then the Pegasus Bridge. It was a long day.
