Following the same vein as Smash Tv&Have Adventures I decided to take a picture of one of my journal entries from back in the day. This particular entry comes from a journal I kept throughout most of my college days at Ohio University. The journal roughly covers the years 2003-2005, when I decided to stop writing in it because my mother found it too much fun to try to find my hiding places and read my journal.
This entry was from my first year at OU when I hated it and kept contemplating transfering (ironically) to Kent State (where I am now persuing my Masters). I was very troubled back in those days, and was very into the whole indie "scene" thing (hence my second photo next to the journal entry). I liked to make collages with pictures and text and background images. This was one I made of me in 2003. I guess it represents how I thought of myself back then....
Now, I don't care so much about that stuff. I purposely don't buy "cons" (converse shoes) because it is a "scene" thing to do. I just think it's kind of hypocritical: if you are "scene" and trying to be different and unique from everyone.. how is having the same shoes as everyone else being unique? I think it is totally conformist. I don't know, maybe I'm just bitter because I don't have the body anymore to be a skinny little "scene" girl. Ha.
