So incredibly proud of this boy. When Alex first begged me to play football I was hesitant (for all the reasons everyone can already guess). Now that we are nearing the end of the season of his first year of Peewee football, I can honestly say I've enjoyed every single second of it and I'm already wondering how I'm going to get through the off season. This kid had the game of his life last Saturday which also happened to be his 8th birthday, scoring his first (40yrd) touchdown ever, running the ball in for the extra point on his best friend's touchdown, being a valuable asset/animal on defense making at least 3 huge critical tackles, causing one fumble, and rushing a total of 95 yrds. To say he was 'on fire' is an understatement. Every game Alex has shown improvement, but he hit this one out of the park, helping his team get their first win. Today at practice, Alex was awarded helmet stickers (rewards) for his touchdown, defensive play, extra point, team win and, the best one. . . being named "Player of the Game". Alex went into practice today with only 4 stickers and left with 10, pretty proud of this guy.
