Christmas Truce - Prowse Cemetary

WiFi is pretty dodgy here so uploading a photo I took yesterday at the site of the Christmas truce in the Great War. The football game is apparently a complete myth but the singing and exchanging of gifts actually happened....

One of the few cemeteries named after a soldier rather than a place of battle....

A poignant and beautiful place full of sadness......

There are so many of these cemeteries dotted all over the countryside in Belgium....a truly humbling experience.....and a reminder of the waste of so many lives through war.....
