Wait in line
Another lazy morning and then we decided to head out and see what we would find if we were to turn left out of our appartment. And there it was - Euro Plaza. A lush supermarket was hidden inside of there...nothing like our dirty ghetto local supermarket we'd been trying to get used to.
First time to take the Beijing subway and also first time to see rain here. It was interesting to see the way people operated in the subway. You have markings on the floor that tell you where the doors will stop on the platform. At these markings you form two queues, one on the left and one on the right, and then you barge in as fast as you can, regardless as to whether people need to come off or not. Apart from that the subway runs well and is clean. We went downtown to meet Richard and had a BBQ dinner. Toasted with a disgusting Baijo drink (smells like a dead snake may have curled up and died in there) as tradition requires and tucked right in. After dinner we headed down to a bar called Dada. A real bar!!! Spent the night listening to some Drum and Bass and playing table football.
