The Saltmarsh

I needed to go overseas (to Stockton) to get a shot of the city for something else and stopped here at the Saltmarsh as the sun was setting.  It is an area of flats on the Hunter River behind the Stockton bridge which you can see in the background here.   It is a breeding ground for migratory birds and off limits but you can walk around the perimeter.  I might add that I couldn't see any birds that might have been breeding while I was there but did see a couple of whimbrels and Ibis.  I also saw two Black Cockatoos later which means rain must be on the way.
