Everything is changing.
A friend and I were talking today about how we should take more photos of our street just to remember and mark the changes.
This is a lovely old house that won't be with us much longer. It's days are numbered now that the construction fence has gone up around it. It has been vacant ever since we moved here and 12 months ago it sold. (Luckily A had taken a look and some photos of the inside before it went on the market). The planning sign on the gate says that it will be replaced by a townhouse complex. It may be the last spring the pear tree will blossom.
Today also marked a big change for our high school of choice. It too has been slowly falling apart with no love or money from the government and today the Minister for Education announced that the school will relocate about 10km away in a new housing development. It is exciting that we will have a new school but it is sad to lose the old campus. The soonest it will be complete is 2019 which will be R's last year and M's first. We'll see if the Principal and School Council can make enough noise to keep the government moving.
One more piece of news...the river has flooded again .... but tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 20s so maybe things will begin to dry out.
