Sympetrum striolatum

Also known as the Common Darter, this one is a female and the result of another long stalk. A 'Dragonfly Enthusiasts' page on the web states: "They constantly return to the same place, whether on some plant or man made timber work, this is undoubtly the species to hone your photographic skills on." Unfortunately the ones in my garden don't appear to be aware of this!
