Heron

We called in to our old health centre to take a fruit basket thank you for the staff (with some choccy bars and cookies hidden in with the fruit!) as we are moving to a new practice nearer home now we are retired.

After lunch I rode down to Dowley Gap and on to the canal to Greengates to see pal Jean for a big catch up.  Jean's dad died a couple of months ago when we were out of the country and then she was away so this was the first time we've both had to get together and it was good to see her.

My blip is taken on the Leeds Liverpool Canal at one of the quieter sections between Thackley and Apperley Bridge.  I came round the corner and spotted this heron.  It was unperturbed and didn't take flight until I was right up next to it on the path.
