Squabbles

With 15 cranes on South Lake at Slimbridge today it's hardly any wonder there are a few tiffs!

Had a lovely afternoon pottering around Slimbridge WWT with ThingsBeautiful and Incredibish. We couldn't have chosen a more beautiful day with hardly a cloud in the sky and the sun just beating down! Is this really October?! 

From left to right we have Monty a male born on the 1st May 2010, released in August of that year in the Great Crane Project. He has paired with Chris not in the picture but is standing next to Ruby, who has paired with Bart on the right fitted with a satellite transmitter both born in 2010. Cookie the youngest of the quartet born only 3 years ago 3rd from left, seemed to be causing a bit of a commotion and is easily recognised by her green black and yellow tags and I think Monty was trying to sort everything out. A lot of wing flapping, squawking and stand offs but all soon resolved and back to serious preening in the sun. Great to see even at a good distance.
