Kitsilano

We got a pleasant surprise waking up today to blue skies and sunshine, when the weather forecast had predicted rain. We decided to make the most of the nice day and take the short ferry trip to Kitsilano . It was a lovely little area and we enjoyed a nice walk along the seawall and Kitsilano beach. Being from Shetland I am not often impressed by many other beaches as we have such spectacular ones, but so far with Vancouver it's been about more than just the beach. The surrounding area, the view and the atmosphere is always so refreshing and enjoyable! We also spent time exploring the neighbourhood with its beautiful and colourful houses, as well as chasing some cute little squirrels for a photo or two! We sat on the logs by the sea (logs are a big thing on every beach we've seen so far in Vancouver) and dog watched for ages! It was very amusing watching all the dogs on the beach, there must have been at least a dozen different ones, varying in colours and size. The majority of them interacted with one another and the owners seemed happy for them to play while they watched on. We got a few friendly faces coming up to us, which allowed the chance for a clap, cuddle and a lick or two. We were of course delighted!
