Good-bye

I'm not sure how long this little Garrison Church has stood here. I moved to the area in 1955 and it looked like it had already been there for some time. Until about 3 years ago it was used each Sunday by the soldiers and their families but when it needed repairs it was found to be too expensive because of the asbestos roof, and it was closed.

As we all know an abandoned building is soon a target for vandals and a fire was started in the early morning a couple of months ago and it's now unsafe and has to be pulled down.

I shall miss the familiar view from my window and wonder what will one day be built in its place.
