Brough Castle

Brough Castle is a ruined castle in the village of Brough, England. The castle was built by William Rufus around 1092 within the old Roman fort of Verterae to protect a key route through the Pennine mountains.

We have our static caravan just a mile away from here, and it's a fantastic and free place to visit. There are the ruins, stunning views, horses, sheep and a children's playground with picnic benches outside a farm run ice cream parlour. Daisy and I spent a happy hour here today.
