Lichen the sunshine

That title only works if you pronounce lichen the way I do!
The sunshine is being economical with its appearances at the moment but it does make you enjoy them all the more.
My boss is going on maternity leave at the end of the month and I have been asked to cover for her until they can get someone new in - which, knowing our lot, could be anything from 4 weeks to 6 months. I'm looking forward to it.
