Work

The conductor has asked Miss K to play the glockenspiel part in Star Wars so she is having to learn to play notes, not just bash things. To be fair, she does play the saxophone, but translating to the keyboard is new. 

Up early this morning to take Mme A to the airport where she left for a conference in Cardiff. So, a long but very pleasant day at work where I was taking my first steps in C++ programming, with my PhD student helping to correct my mistakes. Realised how much I've missed programming: it dominated my work for 25 years, but I've not done any for almost a decade.

Went home via my parents' to wish Mum a happy birthday.
