Handsome fly
I had a few things to do at the nature reserve today and hoped to find some fungi, but it's still far too dry. However, I did spot this fly sunning itself on a bramble leaf. After some searching when I got home I found it is called Dryomyza anilis, normally found in damp deciduous woods where its larvae develop inside dung or rotting fungi. I think it must be hoping for rain as well.
