Palas

Found these bats when I was rummaging in my mother's store room. They are called 'palas' in Spanish and have provided hours of great entertainment on Spanish beaches in the north of Spain. Basically, you play beach tennis with them mostly on wet sand but sometimes on dry If there are not too many people around. It's a game I have played for decades since I was a child and I now play with my own boys. You play with a tennis ball hitting the ball either on the full or allowing it to bounce when you're on the hard sand and when you get experience, it's great fun hitting the ball as hard as you can whilst trying to keep the rally going for as long as you can. A real blast!
