Kansas

I probably don't have to tell too many fellow Americans that this is the great State of Kansas.  I think "flat" is the only description that fits.  We traveled from Taos, New Mexico. to Salina, Kansas, today and barely saw a bump once we crossed the state line.  It's absolutely beautiful with gold wheat fields and farms dotting the landscape.  The sky is a entity of its own.  Though nothing like the weather currently in Florida, there was a storm here and one tornado actually touched down to the south of us.  We've watched the sky do its dramatic show all day long and it's been mesmerizing.   Anyway, we're settled in for the night in Salina ready to start early for the last leg of the trip, hoping to reach Bloomington by tomorrow night.  Rob has been doing all the driving and doesn't seem at all worried about continuing on.  I think we'll both be glad to get to Bloomington, though.  Living out of suitcases is starting to lose its charm for both of us.
