Fading Beauty

Disappointment hangs over our house today as the two little eight week old lurcher puppies (Lady and Tramp - brother and sister!) we were expecting to foster for a few weeks are not now coming.  The leg deformities they both have are apparently not as bad as the owners thought and they now want to keep them.  Wonderful news for the puppies but bitter-sweet news for us - we were so looking forward to looking after them.  Oh well, we await the next dog who needs fostering with baited breath.

Anyway, walking to get the paper in a rather sombre mood, I saw this little fading beauty on the verge and felt it would cheer me up to faff around with the image in Lightroom.  And as there are a lot of leaves around it I thought it would also be OK for the Flower Friday - Leaf challenge!  Many thanks to BikerBear for hosting.

Also the little flower is pink, for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  And very good news on that front.  I went for my annual check up at the breast clinic yesterday and came away with a glowing report.  It is now five years and they are very pleased with everything - so it's just a question of keeping on taking the tablets!
