Over Yonder

Huuuuugo

My Dear Fellow,

Since it is October, I felt the need to watch a horror film. I'm going to try & keep it up all month. I really want to see, "The Beast With Five Fingers", "The Tomb of Ligeia", "The Leopard Man" and "The Devil & Daniel Webster".

Apparently, that last one isn't really a horror film. But it does sound suitably macabre.

But I started tonight with an old favourite - "Dead of Night". A venerable portmanteau film from Ealing. It features a number of mildly-chilly tales, a comedy story about a ghostly golfer and then... Hugo.

That's the famous ventriloquist dummy story and it's still very effective. I found myself thoroughly spooked even though I know what happens. But it also reminded me of Huuuuuugo from "Midnight Party". Ah, what fun we had playing that game.

And you couldn't hide in the room with the bath because there was a man in there and you might see his willy. My nieces laughed every time I said that.

Good times.
