Southport to Liverpool last train of the day

I went for a Christmas drink with Pete (he lives in Southport), as is our usual routine, time ran out and I ended up getting the last train of the day back to Liverpool.

I only see Pete two or three times a year and every time - a social drink seems to turn into at least a half-a-dozen, I don't know why this always seems to happen - but it does! Every time!

Feeling a little "tired", I boarded the last train of the day and bearing in mind that it is the middle of winter and the middle of December, the train, or at least this carriage, was perhaps understandably but strangely and eerily empty! Anyway, it offered me my last blip of the day!
