More Zadar
Free time this morning to explore some more of the town of Zadar, the fifth largest in Croatia, but still with only 20,000 inhabitants!
Beautiful churches, a Roman forum and modern shops adds up to a lovely place for a holiday. We were looking for somewhere to eat at lunchtime and came upon a square where they were dishing out free food, as it's the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Zadar from the Serbs. Lunchtime solved!
We visited the Museum of Glass and marvelled at the finds from ancient sites and the incredible skill of the glass blowers. There were also exhibits of modern glass, which showed the humour of the Croats.
Ship sailed again mid afternoon, then stopped to allow a few brave souls to have a swim. Too chilly for me, although the sun is shining now, but breeze is quite cool.
Wi-fi is totally erratic, so posting early in case I lose it again. Another stop soon, but will have to tell you about it tomorrow:-)
