Leith

We took a walk to Leith today.  It was a fine day for the walk but the temperature is getting that wee bit cooler now.  Leith is the port district of Edinburgh and is located to the north of the city, on the shoreline of the Firth of Forth.  Originally a separate burgh, the growth and popularity of the city has formed a much closer link and therefore Leith is now a main part of the city and no longer separate.  The area has been undergoing a major revival since the 1980's - it did not have a very good reputation previously.  Leith is now a vibrant part of the city with many independent shops, bars, restaurants and community facilities popping up around the area.
