Trompe-l'œil
After wandering round the banality of a heading-out-of-town shopping centre (picture), I went to a compelling piece of theatre this evening. Things I Know to Be True is a drama exploring family - its conflicts, its support, and growing out of it. This was my introduction to Frantic Assembly's unusual combination of stylised physical theatre with powerful emotional writing and acting and I was impressed.
As I came out a huge theatre lorry behind the stage door was already loading up scenery for the play's next stop in Warwick. Then on to Liverpool, Salford and Chichester. If you enjoy theatre...
