Mt. Hood From Above
We flew from Washington, DC via Chicago, IL to Portland, Oregon today. During the last leg of the flight, I fell asleep.
Fortunately, the plane hit a little turbulence and when I woke up, I saw Mt. Hood out the window. I frantically pulled my camera out of the bag and was able to get a couple of dozen shots as we passed by it.
Mt. Hood is approximately 11,240 feet or 3,429 meters high.I am hoping that the weather will be decent enough Monday or Tuesday so that we can drive to Mount Hood (approximately 50 mi SE of Portland, OR) and hopefully some awesome fall foliage.
See today's extra photos for an aerial shot of the Windy City (Chicago) as we approached earlier today.
