Blackberry picking

Today was mostly spent at Nick and Eve's house - the homestead - helping them make their house less building site and more ready for the unexpected squiggle on the way. This mainly involved a group effort to tame the garden of brambles.

Somehow this involved me sat with a bowl, a set of bramble cuttings and the job of collecting all the blackberries. In the sun. Before I was provided with barbecued food.

It's a hard life.

Sam enjoyed herself enough that her hour or two before she ran away turned into five hours of gardening!

Currently watching the closing ceremony of the Olympics. My sister Kirsten's boyfriend Matt was selected to raise and lower the union flag by the other members of his unit (I believe that's the Scot guard but don't quote me on that...). If it's anything like the opening ceremony it should be one hell of a show!
