Today was one of those days that didn't turn out as planned. Our son P's old car nearly didn't make it up the hills of the passes to get to Black Butte on Friday so we followed them back to the freeway to return to Seattle today to make sure that clutch made it. TAtum needed to get home to her homework... So instead of attending the wedding burrito breakfast and hanging out for awhile with them we had to be on our way. So... We got to our destination for the night ( Corvallis) early...and thot we'd explore a bit by driving to Mary's peak to view the Willamette valley one way and even see the Pacific Ocean the other way... But alas, we were in a cloud and all was just white. And we managed a wrong turn on a very muddy road... So we just came back , found a carwash, and wandered around Corvallis and the University of Oregon's pleasant campus, before relaxing (?) in our motel with that presidential debate on the tv. H keeps turning if off.. It's so awful and embarrassing. Maybe we'll just have to go out and find dinner...
Oh yes the blip. ... Following our son's car, we saw them parked beside the road (no cell service in the area so they couldn't warn us) we thot oh dear.. There's trouble. But it was only to let the girls who were getting carsick on the curvy road out for a break. Whew. The day was beautiful there with sun and blue sky and this tree was reflected on our car. This will remind me of this part of the trip.
The extras are the NEW iPad drawing I made for our card for the bride and groom ( you can see what their athletic passions are) . And our gift... A very OLD oil painting of mine for the professional bike racer nephew) We're thinking about them...they cancelled their Hawaiian honeymoon to care for a sick pet dog.
