Dead man's fingers
Thanks to all those who commented and viewed my inaugural blip. I can tell that I'm going to have to explore your own journals but have not yet found time.
This image was captured in some woodland near my house. The figure in the background is my girlfriend, Sarah. In the foreground are dead man's fingers reaching out of a rotting log. Xylaria polymorpha, as it is named scientifically, is a fungus that grows in such an environment.
