1,500 Sheep

We had a great day in Ketchum at the Trailing of the Sheep Festival. The parade down the main street included all the folk dancers and the pipe band we'd enjoyed at the folk festival yesterday. The highlight for me was seeing all those sheep go by. The celebration of their return from summer grazing in the mountains is traditional in many cultures. In this area the early shepherds were Basques.

After the parade, our hosts gave us a tour of the Sun Valley Resort. It was very impressive. I wish I could show you some photos, but can't do that on my iPad.
