Waiting

Usually the Facing Africa patients live at the Cheshire home 20 miles outside Addis before their operations, but because of  the current situation in Ethiopia, they have all been moved to Addis, to the top floor of the hospital. While they wait for surgery, they pass the time by talking and playing games - cards are very popular. I watched this particular game for a while but didn't really understand the rules.

Some of these patients wear white muslins to hide their facial disfigurement. They were quite happy for me to take their photo.

Four patients were operated on today and are now recovering on the ward. I took photos in two different theatres - some as a record for the surgeons and some just for documentary purposes.

Facebook continues to be blocked but amazingly Blipfoto is working well - Hurrah!
