Autumn day on the allotment
The day has arrived, we have started to close down our allotment for winter. Lots of pulling out and tidying and putting things to one side for a big bonfire. By the end we will have just have our Savoy cabbages and Cavalo Nero left, l picked some of these and bought them home to make lovely riboletta soup later this afternoon. M has dug a lot of the patch over and we will put lots of horse poo on and leave for winter to do its best.
M has bought some wood and is making some raised beds for me, (on the wooden lounge floor! ) and we will take these over tomorrow and install - one is for strawberries which at the moment are being covered in bindweed.
On another note, l picked my little car up from the garage after having it resprayed after pigeons had used it as target practice - l have no idea what they eat but it sure is caustic £300!!!
