Newark Castle

Brian has a few days off work so today we went over to Newark to have a look at and photograph the castle ruins.

There is more of it left than I'd thought, and you can get closer to it than I expected. I enjoyed looking round the ruins and reading the information boards. It all sounds very "Game of Thrones", with poisoned kings, rebellions and wars between royals and parliament.

The only downside today is that I'm going down with a cold. My throat hurts and I feel like I have no energy whatsoever!
