Walking through Cobwebs
A very productive day. Into the town and bought important things like hen food, wild bird seed and suet balls and compost.
The new chickens aren't laying yet. I hadn't appreciated how young they actually were - they have grown a lot, but still don't seem to be at "point of lay" size. They are lovely to watch, they come running to be fed and talk away and the fact that we don't get any eggs yet isn't the end of the world. The wild birds cost a fortune to feed in comparison and you know there will never be any eggs from them!
Round to see our neighbours in the afternoon. B's memory is fading fast but she loves to see Ollie, and Scratch, and gives them far too many treats and lots of fuss. Scratch has taken to sitting on her knee, but luckily Ollie isn't a jealous boy! You can just see Scratch in the distance in this shot . . .
