Autumn.....

A busy one today. Went down the road to feed cattle and managed to get A15 and her calf into the pens. It has taken a fortnight of feeding her daily nearer and nearer the gate, but got the wild b..... in ! Came home for the trailer and reinforcements and back down, loaded her up and back home. Tagged the calf and shut them in a shed with some others. She's in for the winter now !
Went next door to finish clipping and vaccinating the 69 blks then started hauling them home here to the slatted shed. By tonight only 3 loads left for tomorrow.
At the darkening tonight watched the thousands of geese making their way to Gladhouse reservoir for the night . Our barley stubbles are black with them, but they are better eating lost barley than grass!
The skeins remind me of flights of bombers in old war films crossing the sky.
The rot is starting to set into the garden apples now, time they were picked
