The Church of St Peter the Poor Fisherman
A coastal walk for the group today from Noss Mayo. This little church is just above Church Cove and is now surrounded by a holiday park. It dates back to the 12 Century. Damaged by a severe storm in 1840 and deemed unsafe in 1869. A new church was built in Noss Mayo in 1882 and it fell into further disrepair. In the late 1960's a group of local people decided to attempt to save what was left and it is now maintained by the Redundant Churches Fund.
In extras a sign that amused me - obviously the local cows can read and a photo of David who kindly agree to let me take his photograph. He was finishing off a new fence on our route.
I am struggling to keep up with blip, but would at least like to keep my journal running. So apologies for lack of comments recently - I have now turned mine off for the time being
