Acireale

It is such a beautiful Sicilian town - very few tourists, not mentioned in the guidebooks. Lovely restaurants and friendly people.

We started with a walking tour of the centre, the Cathedral and the two other most important churches.

My blip is of a typical Sicilian scene : stunning historical treasures, religion, modern technology and daily life continuing. The monk with his phone, the monument to the unknown soldier surrounded by flags, and routine building work, regardless of health and safety.

We've now driven to Noto - baroque treasure. And yet another walking tour.
