Lasting ...

I'm so pleased with the staying power of the flowers I was sent for my birthday that I'm blipping today's photo of them after their rearranging in fresh water. They arrived in a smallish, flattish box on 30 September, wondrously packed with the rose heads protected by tiny mesh bags, mostly in bud but with sufficient flowers to look great in the vase right away. Today I had to dispose of most of the roses, but as you can see there's still live in several of the flowers.

What are these lovely red things, by the way?
