'Snailed

As usual, my day began with my Garden Birdwatch. Some days there is not a great deal to see, other days there might be a bit of drama, like a Sparrowhawk making a visit. On very rare occasions we have a bird that is new to this garden - and today was such a day. This lovely song thrush appeared in next door's tree then dropped down onto our hedge where it had obviously spotted a snail. It waited long enough to have its photo taken before flying off with its prize.
I spent much of the day checking out the area where we are doing our fungi workshop on Saturday. There wasn't a great deal around because of recent dry conditions. Very annoying then that I managed to get thoroughly soaked.
