Underground

When it rains in the peak district there are places to go - underground being one of them.

Thankfully we'd made it up the hill to Peveril Castle, and back down, earlier and the rain just about held off by the pub garden umbrella, but we finally had to make for shelter.

This may not be the best picture of us all (lack of hair dryer and straighteners the main reason) but its a rare shot of us all together. Taken in the final chamber in the Blue John Caverns by a lovely doctor in holiday from India with his family. Not the prettiest caves, no big stalactites, but huge chambers that were all made by water with churning ceilings (and 294 steps down & 294 steps back up!)
