Trick or treat?

Celebrating Halloween has steadily crept into Australian culture. We never celebrated it when I was a child, but now people get right into it with trick or treating.

I don't object on religious grounds, but find it just another example of the rampant march of consumerism. Tricking us into thinking it's a real treat in my view. I will loathe the Halloween knocks on the door and will probably pretend not to be at home.

Felt slightly depressed when I spotted these pumpkins in the supermarket today.
