A fond farewell

Today was Hannah's funeral, where she was laid to rest in the churchyard of her spiritual home with a wonderful view over the stone wall to the fields beyond and the trees, which put on their finest Autumn colours.

There were 248 people in church and where Hannah presided over the proceedings from her wicker basket adorned with sunflowers. The hymns were ones I'd never heard before, all uplifting, as she had been even when ill.

There was high tea at the village hall, just like you get at The Ritz but without the hush, and two walls were dedicated to the girl with a zest for life that never dimmed.

Hannah will be sorely missed by her family, community, work colleagues, friends and beyond, and particularly her work with children for which she had a passion.
