In Gloucester and Rockport, MA, there is a long-abandoned settlement called Dogtown Common (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogtown,_Massachusetts). In the 1930s, as part of FDR's WPA, Roger Babson, entrepreneur and founder of Babson College, paid unemployed stonecutters to inscribe some of the boulders. It is surreal to walk through the woods and find gigantic boulders with commands on them.
