Abstract Thursday
Today has been a day of mixed emotions. It was the day we said goodbye to Hannah (Jellybean79). She orchestrated the service in that she had planned it with the vicar. She chose the music, hymns and readings. She wished it to be a service of thanksgiving and a celebration of her life. At one point in planning the service she observed to the vicar that the first three letters of funeral were F U N…
The only things she didn’t plan were the contributions from her father and Martin (the vicar) – although thinking about it she did, in that both those contributions were all about her and her life - her work and about those for whom she made a difference. The church was full, with some having to stand.
After the burial it was her wish we all had afternoon tea at the village hall. Various people had helped the family assemble photos of her through various stages of her life. And we managed to display the Blip tributes of myself and BlackTulip and a selection of her own blips that charted this last few months of her life.
Today’s blip is at afternoon tea. The caterers had hung drapes from a marquee which was lovely, it softened the usual utility walls and ceiling of a Village Hall, giving a soft PASTEL light. The blip is a small section of the roof drape – you may notice in one of the folds what appears to be a key!
You can find another blip here BlackTulip
