Two Orcas....

in a family pod of many.....a thrill for me to see from shore near Friday Harbor on San Juan Island.  I've never see them swimming along the coastline like this before and I was literally awestruck by the sight of them.  I never want to lose the ability to have a sense of awe....I was incredibly lucky to get any type of shot of them at all....I had left my 600mm lens at home never dreaming I'd be seeing whales!  
   Biggest storm since 1962 headed our way now ...we are all being warned to batten down the hatches and prepare.   Get batteries and all that good stuff.  One of the reasons my friend and I left the island via the ferry early was to avoid a problem at sea!!!  As I'm typing this the winds are howling and the rains blasting down.
