Our weekend stay...

this lovely old home beside a beautiful lake was the scene for the Henderson's reunion.   Lots of lovely sitting areas, and a fabulous screened in porch to sit in the morning and have your coffee!

We headed out around 10.30 am with a 10 1/2 hour drive ahead, but i was prepared....snakes, snacks, an old cd player and a good book!   Things were fine until just after Truro, where we took Randy to the bus for Halifax.   Still 3 1/2 hours to go and the weather turned extremely nasty!   Torrential rain, wild winds and just one hellova nasty drive the rest of the way.

We weren't expecting the tail end of the hurricane to hit Nova Scotia so badly.....and we were quite concerned there wouldn't be any power at home!   After 13 hours on the road, 11.30 pm...the last thing i could have dealt with was no power!   thankfully we did have power so we got home, had a stiff drink, chatted with Richard and went to bed!

It was a long a arduous drive but worth it all for the lovely 2 days we got to spend with Terry's family!
