Evacuees

Day One of the NYMR Wartime Weekend.

I had a wander down to the station this afternoon. My timing couldn't have been better. A group of school children dressed as evacuees were having a wonderful time. Having been greeted by a Sergeant Major they were lined up to watch the train change tracks. They were then put through their paces on the platform entertaining the many onlookers.... myself included.

Each year the event seems to get bigger and better with a really good atmosphere in the town. Good place to be if you enjoy turning the clock back but to be avoided if are trying to get anywhere in a hurry!
