St.Peter's Kirk
I'm not religious and I often find the atmosphere in churches oppressive. St.Peter's Kirk at the Bay of Skaill makes me think of Father Mapple preaching in the film Moby Dick and when this church was in use in the 1800s there would have been a few whalers and fishermen in the congregation. The church is pretty austere but I like the fact that there is no stained glass and the light is completely natural. You can see the sea from the windows upstairs. I will try to add a view from the pulpit as an extra.
