MENDED

I have sewn up my walking trousers with a DW patch where I ripped them climbing over a gate on Shetland. The DW stands for Dusky Warbler which was the bird of the moment. I was told later that two men fell over the gate and a third was impaled on the same spike as my trousers.

Perhaps I should enquire about a tetanus jab .........
